James 1:13-14

Satan does not need to get you right away, he just wants to get your attention, he wants to get his foot in the door. Once he gets that he feels he has a chance.

Temptation comes in stages, there is a (process) that must occur, so you can have a way (out).

In Genesis 3:6 Eve (saw) that the forbidden fruit was pleasant to the (eyes) then she (desired) it, then she took it and did (eat) of it.

Through these events that (led) to Eve actually putting the fruit in her mouth, there were opportunities for her to (walk) away. The very same opportunities we have today.

With that said, since being tempted is not a sin in itself, whenever tempted, run in the opposite direction as fast as you can, and never look back.

"Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God” [for temptation does not originate from God, but from our own flaws]; for God cannot be tempted by [what is] evil, and He Himself tempts no one.

But each one is tempted when he is (dragged) away, (enticed) and (baited) [to commit sin] by his own [worldly] desire (lust, passion)."
